Polo Fans Enjoy World-Class Match at Inaugural Nexus Valentine Polo Cup
The First Group Polo Team Crowned Winners of First Nexus Valentine Cup Tournament Held at Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club, February 12

The UAE’s polo-set enjoyed a world-class display of horsemanship and polo skills at the inaugural Nexus Valentine’s Polo Cup last weekend, which saw international and local players battling it out to the very last chukka.
In the end, The First Group PoloTeam finally secured victory with a 5 1/2 score over 2 at the end of the exhilerating three-day tournament, held at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club in front of a 500-strong crowd that included many of the UAE’s social set.
Mahmoud Nodjoumi, owner and CEO of Nexus, one of the leading insurance brokerages in the region which sponsored the event, presented the Nexus Valentine’s Polo Cup to the winning team.
“The tournament has seen three days of fantastic polo, with both international and local players showing off world-class skills in a tightly-contested match, which culminated in today’s gripping final,” Nodjoumi said.
“The Nexus Valentine Cup has proved to be a fantastic day out for polo fans and Dubai residents alike, and we hope that the event will become a regular feature on the Emirate’s polo calendar for years to come,” he added.
Following the final match, players joined VIP guests from the UAE and abroad for an Argentinean Asado dinner in the Saha Courtyard located in the Club.
“It has been a fabulous event, and one we hope will be repeated next year. I would like to thank the players and the behind the scene teams for giving us such a spectacular game to watch – and making the event an unprecedented success for both Nexus and the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club,” concluded Ershad Ahmed, Sales and Marketing Manager of the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
