The primary function of this position is to deliver overall leadership and direction to the Commercial Lines (CLS) team as well as meeting targets, overseeing the day-to-day supervision and control of the CLS team to ensure quality service to clients, manage and control client relationships, and support consultants to attract and retain clients. Experienced in all Commercial Lines of insurance for independents, SME’s & Corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Nexus CEO & Sales Directors to assist in the design, implementation and support of Sales Strategy for new business/open new markets
• Coordinate with Head of General Insurance/consultants on strategic account issues and potential challenges
• Coordinate and support the strategy with the Sales Directors
• Utilize workflows and processes to initiate and maintain contact with clients as well as to update coverages, review exposures, and discuss opportunities for account management
• Monitor CLS team performance to ensure quality service (policy renewal, claims, endorsement, premium payment collection), quote to issuance process is within agreed SLA, and maintain tracker for missed SLA’s
• Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders including management team, contract counterparties, CLS clients and business partners
• Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication, and coaching of direct reports and staff
• Build the CLS Portfolio through your existing client book & network
• Demonstrate a “can do” mindset and a professional attitude at all times
• Accurate record keeping, reporting, case management – as per business process requirements
• Adherence to UW, compliance & department guidelines in line with the company’s SOP
What we are looking for:
• Ideally a minimum of 5 years in Management of Commercial Lines Insurance in the region including underwriting, coverage and rate analysis with policy implementation & claim management experience
• In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance cover and an ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to staff, clients and underwriters
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Be able to multi-task and prioritise workload
• Fluent in English is mandatory, fluent in any other language is a plus
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook
• CII or other General Insurance Certification is mandatory
